Well, first off I want to start off by giving some credit today. I saw both the corvette video and this Falken video on Autoblog.com, the best website ever. This video here is really worth watching especially because it is a twin turbo Suzuki that is making 900 + HP; not something you see everyday. Tajima now holds 5 consecutive wins in a row at Pikes Peak and this year he did not have it so easy with Millen gunning for that number 1 spot.
Recently Will Roegge returned to Pikes Peak , this time covering the Porsche GT3 car of Jeff Zwart. Will’s 2009 Pikes Peak feature received global acclaim and applause. This 2010 piece is nothing short of breath taking. Another brilliant piece from Medium Monster, full screen HD experience with headphones is a must. Following that, head over to Will Roegge’s homepage to check out his behind the scenes blog.
Who in their right mind would take a car worth this kind of cash and send it up a mountain in the middle of a racing session? Jeff Zwart. Will Roegge has the in car on the GT3 Porsche as he qualifies and sets the new record in the 2wd Time Attack Class.
This week kicks off the Pikes Peak hill climb a race that has dated back to 1916. Rhys Millens Hyundai PM580 looks like it maybe able to take on the difficult challenge of running a sub 10 minute pass on the mountain. We all wish Millen the best of luck and hope he can bring the title back to the family.
OMG that fuckin car rips.
Rhys Millen Racing shows off their new Pikes Peak ride. In my opinion the technology may be a little too advanced for this vehicle. The car looks like it is not finished yet, so to test all this new technology and make it all work in time for the Pikes Peak event, will be very difficult. We all wish Mr. Millen the best of luck with his new ride.
Rod Millen is ready for Rhys to take back the title at Pikes Peak. Below are 2 videos from Rod Millen running Goodwood with the Tacoma and the Celica. These are 2 cars that he dominated Pikes Peak with; he held the record for many years in the Celica. Also late last week Rhys Millen finally showed the rendering of his newly built 750hp monster. He will be looking to break the 10 minute mark; this has been something that has never been done before at the mountain. Below are some facts on the new car.
1,850lb carbon fiber body
750 HP stroked 4.1-liter V6
Weismann semi-automatic AWD transmission
On 4.19 Rhys Millen Racing will be debuting there new AWD V8 powered Hyundai Pikes Peak car. I am sure this machine is going to be a monster and will put a beating on that Suzuki that has been tearing up that mountain for the past few years. We are all glad to see that Rhys is looking to keep the record in the family. All of us at DM are rooting for you hombre.
