World’s Largest HD Screen @ Charlotte Motor Speedway

Yesterday, Panasonic and Charlotte Motor Speedway teamed up to unveil the World’s Largest HD Screen. At 16,000 square feet with measurements of 200ft by 80ft, make this clearly the largest screen ever assembled. Dale Earnhardt Jr was on hand to test out the screen completing a few laps using the iRacing, racing simulator. Its official debut will take place May 21st during the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, and all of the fans seated along the front stretch of the track will now have a new way of catching all of the action without having to turn their heads!

Jimmie Johnson finished 2nd place in the final NASCAR event of the year. The championship race went down to the wire. Going into the event, NASCAR had 3 guys who had a chance to win; Harvick, Hamlin and Johnson. Hamlin lost his chance early on, but with Harvick and Johnson it came down to the end both finishing strong; Johnson 2nd and Harvick 3rd. What a way to finish the season! NASCAR really needed to have a good battle like this to get some excitement back in the sport. Congrats to Johnson on making history and becoming one of the best drivers the sport has ever seen.
PASTRANA IS COMING TO NASCAR IN ’11

Travis Pastrana has teamed with Michael Waltrip Racing to create Pastrana-Waltrip Racing and is slated to run 7 of the 20 races in the Nationwide Series. According to NASCAR website, “Pastrana-Waltrip Racing will focus on creating programs that expose the action sports world’s fans and participants to NASCAR and develop youth marketing initiatives designed to create greater awareness of both sports.”
“I’ve been following NASCAR closely for years as a fan of the sport with competing in the sport a life-long dream,” Pastrana said. “I decided it was time to try and turn that dream into reality and with the help of the Bechtel family, Michael Waltrip Racing and Wasserman Media Group, I’m now one step closer.”
