This shit is crazy; I guess it is how they get down in the south. I have always heard that this is a common deal on the weekends at the drag strip down there. When street cars run “No Time” they will not show under the hood or give up any specs on the cars, so I can’t give you much information on this deal. The only thing that is certain is that LiL Flip won and the mother fucker got paid.

Since the beginning of Death Machines, Jimmy Blewett was one of the first interviews that I wanted to feature. Who else in circle track racing is hated more then Blewett himself? In one race with Jimmy he could be your best friend or your worst enemy. We run down a quick Q&A with him about all the bullshit that everyone has always wanted to know, but they dont have the guts to ask him. Death Machines photographer Dan Jenkins went to the Turkey Derby (one of the most premier Nascar Modified Races of the year) with Jimmy and shot his amazing #66 Modified car that is prepped by Modified Legend Dick Barney. Check out our FEATURES section or CLICK HERE to see the interview and let us know what you think.
Bill Wood interviews Tri Point Engineering, who runs in the World Challenge sports car class. Tri Point explains the differences from the Mazda 6 to the Mazda 3 that they will be running in 2010. Sounds like the car has many of the same components, but there are a few changes in the suspension. Bill has had some of the best interviews in the scene over the past year and we look forward to seeing what he has up next.
The AMS Evo catches on fire when the power steering pump line blew. The car fills with smoke and I am not sure if he pulls the fire system. The guys will have to do a quick fix to have the car turned around for a upcoming race. Nice job to AMS for getting the car completed.
As we all know, every X-Games event has some serious competition. This week was nothing out of the ordinary. The rumor at Gladiator Games Prague this weekend was that Chuck Carothers was going to backflip a street Harley. Well, I guess the news got back to Kain Saul in Australia, cause he then raced to get footage of him backflipping a Harley, which apparently he completed successfully…however, this is what chuck had to say about it!
“I’m kind of bummed because of the whole Harley Davidson thing, but it’s nothing like mine. It’s the same brand bike, but his bike has all-new aftermarket suspension — I’m not sure what kind it is. It’s a completely different bike and his is going to flip a lot easier than mine and for sure land a lot easier.”
Big ups to the both of you from Death Machines, but to do it on a complete street bike is straight up crazy, thats a lot of weight to have hanging up between your legs at that height! I hope Harley gives you some exposure for that one Chuck!
Ok, Lets face it, just about everyone knows that Jeeps marketing philosophy is that if it can be made we want to put our name on it! If there was an award for “Most Automotive Merchandise by a Car Manufacturer” Jeep would definitely hold the title, with hundreds of items to choose from.
When looking back at the last 5 yrs, raising 2 kids, there is one item that I continue to be unable to let go of. I really feel that every little kid should have the opportunity to roll around in a Jeep Stroller. It’s capable of all terrain, it allows you to play music through an iPod, there are toys attatched, (which are removable), a 5 pt harness and lots of cargo…NEED I SAY ANYMORE? If you know of a kid in need of a stroller this holiday season, and you can swing this as a gift, these parents will be forever greatful! (3 different Types / range from $99.00 to $204.00)
I also found another new item by Jeep, this is for people who have a smaller budget but still want to give a cool gift to one of their “Jeep Peop’s”…anyone who spends a few weekends at the lake, on the beach, a boat, or at the pool are going to appreciate this, and it comes in 4 different colors, so be creative and match their Jeep…at $30.00, I dont think you can go wrong!
The Canadian Grand Prix’s is back with a deal that has them locked in for 5 years. I think many of the race fans in the US and Canada were hoping for this to happen. I am not to sure why F1 took Canada off the schedule originally, but we are all glad it is back on. This would be a great opportunity for the first Death Machines road trip; we may even need to fire up the short bus and have Rich G behind the wheel.
Our good friend Eugene, from Local Scene, sent this video over to us. Some dude at a HIN’s show rolled his car over on a Jersey barrier and gets all fired up about it. Who the fuck rolls their car over and is pumped about it? Well, at least the dude did not hurt anyone.
The topic on Honda-Tech is, “Who needs Drifting when you have Drag racing.” This shit is so funny. The dude goes for one hell of a ride and ends up saving it due to his wheelie bars making contact with the wall first. He was so close to rolling the car over and once the car got back in control the crowd went crazy. You have got to love drag racing.
