Tuesday, May 31st, 2011Tanner Foust DESTROYS World record for longest jump
Tuesday, May 31st, 2011Thanks to some friends on Facebook for posting this link. Tanner Foust “retired” from drifting to pursue other projects. Who knew that he’d be flying through the air on a real life Hot Wheels track, to absolutely CRUSH the world record. WOW! Thanks to the folks at hotwheels for making this look so damn cool for those of us who grew up launching cars and trucks off of our own homemade ramps from that orange track. Although, mine never went 332 feet, and I never had a 90′ tall ramp either.

Friday, May 27th, 2011Camel Race – Wadi Rum, Jordan
Friday, May 27th, 2011This video is for those of you that are unaware of Camel Racing. Filmed in high def from Wadi Rum Jordan, this is an opportunity to catch some some behind the scenes footage of an event that you will most likely never witness in person. Camel racing is a popular sport in India, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Australia, and Mongolia, & these suckers reach speeds of about 40 mph.
This event however is slightly different from the norm when it comes to conventional camel racing. These camels are being radio-controlled, rather then being ridden by jockeys, hence the reason you see vehicles following so closely in the distance.
Take note of the way that these guys choose to slow the camels down, they are crazy!

Ryan Tuerck Drift Demo
Thursday, May 26th, 2011
Recently the Gardella Racing Rig travelled to Harrison NJ for the opening day at the New York Red Bulls Stadium where Ryan Tuerck & Aaron Colton put on an awesome demo for the Red Bull fans! The venue was packed and people lined the street as far as the eye could see, even though there was still a cold chill in the air. This was the first of many Red Bull demo events that Ryan Tuerck will be sliding through this season, and also the first event that his Solstice was re-wrapped as a complete Red Bull demo car. Together with Colton’s skill there was no lack of excitement, his motorcycle riding abitilites are unparalelled to any other rider that I have ever seen.
Unfortunately earlier in the evening, the actual LS7 demo car was having engine issues, and needed to be sidelined. Luckily the Gardella Racing crew is always prepared, and quickly had to jump into action with Plan B, which consisted of the crew pulling out Ryan’s yellow road racing Solstice, obviously underpowered in comparison to his LS7 demo car, but none the less capable and reliable enough to offer the crowd a great drifting demonstration. You could tell their was a bit of anxiety in the air because the corporate people at Red Bull were unsure of whether or not a quality display of drifting could be brought to us given these circumstances, but once the smoke cleared it was obvious by the reaction of the Red Bull fans that Ryan’s drifting skills, and Aaron’s riding prowess prevailed and an amazing show was without a doubt acheived. Thanks to Brian Casse of Jersey Streets we have the ability of showing you how it all went down!
Brad Hettinger’s New S14
Thursday, May 26th, 2011Luis Martinez has been down with DeathMachines since day one, so it is our pleasure to share his brand spanking new ride with the DM network. We wish him the best in his quest for trying to find a title sponsor for this incredible S14. Personally, I really like the “Your Logo Here” marketing campaign thats going on for the Palm Beach Event, and I think the car looks amazing! Best of luck to Brad Hettinger who will be pilotting this rocketship on behalf of Luis Martinez Racing & Kenda Tires.
I have added his email address at the end of this post, just in case you have some room in your budget and would be interested in associating “your” brand with one of Formula Drift’s rising stars!
