THE ENERGY OF FORMULA DRIFT SEATTLE

This weekends Formula Drift event in Evergreen Washington was something that I have never seen before. The noise, the excitement, the electricity in the air was just something similar to a college football game. The driving was by far the best I have seen all year from every driver. I think almost every car went home with at least a scratch and if not a scratch it had body panels hanging off it. This was by far my favorite FD event I have ever attended and if every event is like this the series will be one of the biggest motor sports in the world.

Every time a tire screeches a fan gets excited… A miracle on Evergreen Speedway!

The Washington event NEVER under impress’ us the Formula Drift Staff, Drivers, sponsors, etc.

This was THE BEST TOP 16 Driver introduction EVER, just loud, proud and everybody was on their feet!
It was awesome, the driving was second to none!!!!!
I mean seriously Formula Drift drivers are some of the best in the world if anybody says that the top Formula Drift drivers can be taken out no problem by other worldwide drivers you’re CRAZY!
I’m not saying they can BEAT them no problem, but it’s a run for the money worldwide now!

Formula Drift round 4 was one for the books, thank you again to all the screaming, cheering, yelling fans and we’ll be SENDING IT in Vegas in no time!!!!

DRIFT STREAM 2010 OFFICIAL RELEASE

Long Beach, Calif. – May 26, 2010 – Formula DRIFT launches DriftStream2010.com as a hub for all content of the Live Stream.

“Driftstream2010.com is the next step of development for our live stream partnership,” said Ryan Sage, co-founder of Formula DRIFT. “This will be the central place where all things pertaining to the live stream will be centrally located. Our approach is to make the viewing experience of the live stream as easy, seamless, and fun as possible.
The new DriftSteam2010.com site has been created to specifically house both Live Coverage and On-Demand footage of the 2010 Formula DRIFT Schedule as well as the following elements:

The new site features a user-friendly interface, while providing new and archived content pertaining to Formula DRIFT. The dynamic features of the site will engage fans to interact with one another and become socially active.
“The main goal for the development of this site was to create an easy to navigate experience while still providing all relevant streams of content for the FD fanbase,” said Tom Masiero, co-founder of YoParts.com.
The Drift Stream will continue at Round 3: The Gauntlet on June 4-5 in Wall, NJ when Formula DRIFT returns to Wall Speedway.

MOBIL 1 GRID TV

Grid TV made the journey from the UK to cover the Formula D Long Beach event. I am sure they had other business in the US besides that, but they did a phenomenal job covering Round 1. Not only did they show Vaughn Gitten take the win, but we give him the award for really stepping up his interviewing skills! Really nice job Vaughn with the interviews. We all at DM hope you Grass Roots drivers start taking some notes.

FORMULA D ATLANTA ROUND 2

On May 7-8 Formula Drift round 2 will be taking place deep in the woods of Atlanta. After a phenomenal event at Long Beach we will see what all the Formula Drift competitors have in store for Round 2. Can Vaughn Gittin JR hang on to the number 1 spot or will the 09 Champion Chris Forsberg make a come back after getting knocked out early?

ONEofONExFD VIDEO COVERAGE

Here’s a video recap produced by Yogi of this weekends One/One Showcase. I must admit, I really enjoyed this video. Not just because it was a Formula Drift event, but because there seems to be a revitalization of the car show scene thanks to Fatlace and their ONE/ONE Showcase. The drifting was incredible, but its always nice to have a good car show to break up the time in between sessions, these guys brought it to us “PROPERLY”! Looks like Lexus & Scion really had an impact at this show, and the fitments on most of the cars look amazing to say the least. Hellaflush / Fatlace & ONE/ONE Showcase, our hats are off to you, can’t wait to see how what you have up your sleeve for the rest of the season! “GREAT JOB”

YOUDRIFT TAKES YOU INSIDE THE 2009 FORMULA DRIFT

Here is an edit on the Formula Drift Pro AM Final at Irwindale. YouDrift hooks it up; this is the first edit I have seen from this crew and I like it. The song that they play is by the Colour, it kind of sounds like the Cure, I like it. I will have to check them out. I spent some time on YouDrift.net’s site and I don’t like that you have to sign up to become a member, but for the most part the site has a lot of content.

FORMULA DRIFT PRO AM NATIONALS

Coming in up in the next few weeks will be the finals for the FD Pro AM series. The event will be held at Irwindale Speedway in So Cal so, if you are in that area stop in and see the best up and coming guys in the country.
