In this video he walks the guys at Yaer Productions around the track, and gives a glimpse into what is going through his mind when it come to proper line, angle, and speed, not to mention what is expected of the judges in order to come out on top during tandem action!

Formula Drift 2011 – Las Vegas, NV – Nitto Tire – Studio Mountain

Tuesday, November 15th, 2011

Gotta love the disclaimer in the beginning of the video that states, “PROFESSIONAL DRIVERS ON A CLOSED COURSE, ALWAYS DRIVE SAFELY AND OBEY ALL RAFFIC LAWS”
This is Studio Mountains latest release for the Nitto Tire brand, and it does not disappoint. All of the Nitto drivers are highly capable of hitting the podium, and in this was the case for Matt Powers at this event.

YAER 2011 Automotive DEMO REEL

Tuesday, November 1st, 2011

Ryan Davis just dropped the 2011 Yaer Demo Reel, touching on some of the venues from Formula D to Lemans that he has attended & shot this year. This dudes living the dream, and making great footage along the way! One thing that you can take away from this demo reel is that they make great motorsports films. Looking forward to what he has in store for 2012 and beyond, great job to Yaer for making it happen.

The Grudge Continued (Rado / Gardella)

Monday, October 31st, 2011

Stopped by the local Barnes & Nobles to pick up a few magazines yesterday on my way to the gym. Making the normal rounds for SuperStreet, DSport, etc…The normal import sport compact stuff, ya know.

Well, as I rested the magazines down on the shelf so that I could check out some Maxim babes, I found myself looking at the back covers to both magazines that I had just placed down, and boom coincidentally, there they were in 2 recent tire sponsor ads, The Gardella Racing Camaro on the back of DSport Magazine for Nitto Tires, and Christian Rado on the back of SuperStreet for Continental Tires.

For those of you who may not have a facebook account, or some of you who may not follow these guys through social media then you wouldn’t be aware of the grudge that these two drivers have against each other regarding who holds the title of World’s Fastest Front Wheel Drive Drag Car, which stems back to the early days of Nopi / NHRA Drag Racing. The grudge is more friendly then it is hostile, and since the demise of Profession Front Wheel Drive Drag Racing, it has proven to be a positive source of media for the people who are trying to revive the sport. I must admit it was refreshing to see both drivers & team owners still remain relevant in the industry, finding a way to evolve through-out the years even inside of different aspects of motorsports. Gary having pursued Formula Drift, and Christian having pursued Time Attack, both becoming very successful after the switch from Drag Racing.

Formula Drift: Title Fight 2011

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

Great effort in catching all of the mayhem at he last round of Formula Drift, Irwindale Speedway 2 weeks ago by Loren Haleston. This event shaped up to be one of the best FD rounds in history! The battle for the #1 spot was up in the air, but in the end it seemed nobody could match the numbers posted by Dai Yoshihara this season!

Formula Drift 2011 – Monroe, WA – Nitto Tire – Studio Mountain

Friday, September 23rd, 2011

Nitto Tires drops a promotional edit featuring their drivers recently competing at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe Washington during the Formula Drift Round 5 Throwdown. I may be a little bit biased but Ryan Tuerck’s car just looks so damn good sliding around that track in high definition!

Tram Tran Photography / FD Visionary

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011

Tram Tran may very well be one of the most under-rated photographers in the motorsports game, especially in the field of Formula Drift where photographers are a dime a dozen. It takes a special eye, and knowledge of the game to stick out in a flooded market such as FD! I have nothing bad to say about any of the photgraphers that I have met along the way, in fact I truly feel that most of the photographers in Formula Drift are some of the best in the motorsports industry period. Tram Tran just happens to be one of my personal favorites, he has been covering the Formula Drift scene for a couple of years, and recently I was turned onto his work by a friend of mine that came across his website. After reviewing this site I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of “drifting” material that is displayed. He has a clever way of tying together the lifestyle element as well as the element of competition in his photography. I encourage you to click on the link and see for yourself, I’m sure you will also feel the same way!
