Stopped by the local Barnes & Nobles to pick up a few magazines yesterday on my way to the gym. Making the normal rounds for SuperStreet, DSport, etc…The normal import sport compact stuff, ya know.
Well, as I rested the magazines down on the shelf so that I could check out some Maxim babes, I found myself looking at the back covers to both magazines that I had just placed down, and boom coincidentally, there they were in 2 recent tire sponsor ads, The Gardella Racing Camaro on the back of DSport Magazine for Nitto Tires, and Christian Rado on the back of SuperStreet for Continental Tires.
For those of you who may not have a facebook account, or some of you who may not follow these guys through social media then you wouldn’t be aware of the grudge that these two drivers have against each other regarding who holds the title of World’s Fastest Front Wheel Drive Drag Car, which stems back to the early days of Nopi / NHRA Drag Racing. The grudge is more friendly then it is hostile, and since the demise of Profession Front Wheel Drive Drag Racing, it has proven to be a positive source of media for the people who are trying to revive the sport. I must admit it was refreshing to see both drivers & team owners still remain relevant in the industry, finding a way to evolve through-out the years even inside of different aspects of motorsports. Gary having pursued Formula Drift, and Christian having pursued Time Attack, both becoming very successful after the switch from Drag Racing.
Another stellar video from the filming / editting machine known as Stephen Brooks. Silverstone appears to have been a big success, at least thru Brooks’ lens!
” AwesomeFest is brand new Extreme Sports festival focusing on relaxing, chilling and good times. Think spending an entire weekend in the best skate park which you can ride any time for free, BMX and Skaters ripping it up in harmony, MotoX and Mini-Moto bikes storming the skies, Drift cars tearing round the circuit in a blaze of smoke and glory. Think the best tunes that you never hear anymore, the golden era of Hip Hop, intelligent musical and gritty Dubstep and Drum and Bass pumping out over tricked out sound systems. It’s going to be completely awesome, and we’re delighted to bring it to you. This is what all the other festivals were missing. No winners, or pressure from competition, just enjoyable fun. ” (vimeo)
Not a huge fan of this gaming series but I might have to run out and buy it when it drops because it looks really good and seems very customizable. Here’s a clip showing the Autlog feature and pits JR vs Powers – a little shit talking going on and you’ll see at the end it’s a lot closer than you would think.
I came across this edit on Speedhunters and I was really impressed with this course. I have seen videos and photos of Ebisu, but I felt like I was there in this edit. This track just seems like such a great time; you are able to rent cars. Remi Schouten was the mastermind behind this edit.
For real, I don’t know where to even start with these 2 guys. They are by far the 2 best personalities in the sport and they are on the same team. They really deserve all the support they get from Need For Speed and EA. Congrats guys we are big time fans of yours. Will Roegge, you are on another level my friend; your work is mind-boggling.
Everything Need for Speed and Speedhunters do is just simply amazing. I am guessing by reading the article, Will Rogge put it together with the help of Linhbergh.
